So much has been going on lately that has kept me busy and away from the computer. I have been making cards and even have sold a number of cards, and some invitations! I find I don't quite enjoy it as much when it starts to feel like a job. My creativity doesn't always work on a time schedule. Some days I can do a bunch and some days I just can't come up with something to save my life. Luckily I have the leisure of just saying today is not a creative day and do something else. There is always tomorrow. These are just a few of the cards I've been working on.
Last weekend I went on a limo wine tasting tour to Temecula with my mom and a bunch of people from her work (who have become my "adopted family"). Two of my sisters came as well. It was a good time. There were 17 of us total. We had a stretch SUV limo to fit us all. My favorite of the tastings was the Almond Champagne. I'm not a red wine drinker at all so the Zinfandels and the Champagnes were what I tried. One of my moms co-workers was celebrating his 50th Bday, and my mom was celebrating a promotion at work!
This weekend I'm doing my 2nd 5K of the year. It's for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and being that I was diagnosed with a mental disorder in 2000, this is an organization close to my heart and something I believe in. My goal was to raise $100, I'm at $60. I still have a few days, but I'm happy just making something for the cause. My mom will walk with me if she's feeling better by Saturday.
Something else I'm really looking forward to is Stevie Nicks is releasing a new album on May 3rd!!! I cannot wait!! There is something about Stevie that completely holds me captive. She is timeless, a true gypsy soul. So the countdown is on for a cd worth buying...20 days and counting.
I'm also no longer doing the San Diego Half Marathon. I did research and found that it would just be dumb of me to think I could train for it in such a short amount of time. I am going to look at one in the Fall and see about maybe training for it. I don't want to push myself into an injury, so I thought it best to wait it out and do it the right way.
